Education

Bachelor of Arts Computer Science

New Mexico State University May 2017

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Computer Science degree at NMSU. This Spring I am starting my last semester and expect to graduate in May of 2017. My cumulative GPA is a 3.71 following Fall semester 2016. I have obtained Honors Student and Crimson Scholar at the beginning of Fall semester 2015. The previous seven semesters my GPA is a 3.99 with Dean's list and have a 4.0 in my core classes for the Computer Science department. I am a member of SiC (Students in Computing) and the Chess Club at NMSU.

Work

Software Engineer

Spectra Logic Corporation June 2017 - Present

Spectra Logic is defining mass storage solutions for large companies. We design, build and maintain physical devices to help companies retain their data for the long-term.
Deep Storage Experts for Exponential Data

Undergraduate Research Assistant

New Mexico State University iCredits (internship) June 2015 - May 2017

NMSU iCredits is an Epicenter for Research and Training in Smart Grids. As an Undergraduate Research Assistant I have helped build a Java Applet (see work below) to monitor and predict disturbances in a Phasor Measurement Unit. I have also gotten familiar with manipulating text files (txt, csv, etc) that contain large amounts of data. I have experienced using classification algorithms such as kNN and SVM as well as others in many multiple programming languages.

Student Software Developer

Los Alamos National Laboratory May 2016 - September 2016

At Los Alamost National Laboratory I was tasked with developing a Java program to fetch readings from multiple sensors and insert into and Oracle Database every minute. These values were then aggregated for each sensor nightly to keep a daily log of high, low, avg and others for each sensor. I communicated directly with the client to obtain requirements and feedback to ensure the program was working correctly.

Skills

My best skill in my opinion is my ability to learn fast and pick up and improve on anything that I try. I am quick to learn new programming languages and enjoy learning new paradigms in technology. I am most proficient in Java but have experience with many other languages including XML, SQL, PL/SQL, python, R, PHP, C, C++, assembly, javascript, HTML and CSS. Other skills include setting up and maintaining a database, web hosting, web services such as REST (including parsing XML/JSON), agile development methods, object orientation and many others. I work well in groups and tend to want to know all aspects of each project I work on and therefore enjoy managing the lifecycle of a project.
